In his own words, [they were among the “boat people”]. Dung is a local and grew up in City Heights where he attended Hoover High School. He is glad to be able to give back to the organization and community that has helped him.

She graduated from Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and completed her family medicine residency training at Kaiser San Diego. Perhaps the most important lesson of her schooling is the fact that winter does not agree with her constitution, and she is very excited to set down new roots in San Diego. As an immigrant from Taiwan, Sophia has been very fortunate to have the educational opportunities and mentorships that helped her succeed in her career.
